Some variants of the Galaxy S6 will allow you to silence the camera shutter sound with an option in the app's settings menu. But this is not true of all models, plus there's an additional annoyance—when you're filming video and you get a notification, you'll actually hear this tone on the final recording.

So if you're tired of these noisy interruptions, a new app from developer Jawomo is right up your alley. Not only will this tiny mod silence the shutter sounds on your Galaxy S6, it will also mute all notifications while you're using the Camera app.

Step 1: Install SilentCam S6

Jawomo's app is called SilentCam S6, and while it's intended for use on the Galaxy S6, it may also work with other phones. To get the app installed, search it by name on the Google Play Store, or head directly to the install page at this link.

Step 2: Activate the Plugin

Once you've got SilentCam installed, go ahead and launch the app. From here, tap the "App is disabled" button in the top-left corner to begin.

On the following menu, toggle the switch next to the "SilentCam S6" entry, then press "OK" on the popup.

At this point, you're all set—any time you open your camera app from now on, all sounds will be silenced.
